Hatha Yoga

Shenton Park

  • Wednesday 9.15am - 10.45am

In these classes there is an emphasis on body alignment, creative sequencing, holding poses for a period of time and the use of props (e.g. blocks, straps, blankets and bolsters). This not only encourages good alignment, it also allows people of varying ages, levels of health and fitness, and those who are injured or pregnant to enjoy the benefits of yoga. All classes finish with a 15 minute guided relaxation/meditation experience.

The classes are infused with a sense of mindfulness, providing students with time to explore and self-reflect. Students are encouraged to be present; to cultivate an awareness of the breath and body; and to work within their limits, without pushing or pain. All students are welcome to the classes, although the Wednesday morning classes are not suitable for absolute beginners.

Classes are held at The Centre for Movement Studies and Yoga Moves in Shenton Park - 45 Evans Street, Shenton Park. Classes are run in line with school terms. Students can attend these classes casually or pay for the full term (or part thereof) at a discounted price.

Students can attend classes in the studio or attend from home via Zoom. Please contact Claire for weekly Zoom invitations. Recorded classes can also be purchased.
