Hatha Yoga
Shenton Park
Thursday 9.15am - 10.45am
In these classes, students are invited to develop a deeper understanding of their own bodies, noticing sensations, limits, and strengths, and to take an active role in shaping their personal yoga practice. Through thoughtful, creative sequencing, time spent holding poses, and the supportive use of props such as blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters, students are encouraged to explore what feels right for them. This approach makes the practice accessible and beneficial for people of all ages and health and fitness levels, and those who are injured or pregnant. Each class concludes with a 15-minute guided relaxation or meditation, offering space to rest, integrate, and reconnect.
The classes are infused with a sense of mindfulness, providing students with time to explore and self-reflect. Students are encouraged to be present; to cultivate an awareness of the breath and body; and to work within their limits, without pushing or pain. All students are welcome to the classes, although the classes are not suitable for absolute beginners.
Classes are held at The Centre for Movement Studies and Yoga Moves in Shenton Park - 45 Evans Street, Shenton Park. Classes are run in line with school terms. Students can attend these classes casually or pay for the full term (or part thereof) at a discounted price. Go to The Centre for Movement Studies and Yoga Moves website for class costs.
Students can attend classes in the studio or attend from home via Zoom. Please contact Claire for weekly Zoom invitations. Recorded classes can also be purchased.
